Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training

Approved by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), this non-credit program prepares individuals to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the State of Missouri. The program teaches basic nursing skills, resident rights, safety, communication techniques, infection control, and much more. CNA’s are eligible for employment in long term, assisted living, and residential care facilitates, hospitals, and home care agencies.

And with our comprehensive program that was designed with input from educators, caregivers, and long-term care industry representatives, we can help you become a nurse assistant and begin your career in health care.

SCHEDULE

STL Training offers a 10 week course that exceeds the required 75 hours of classroom training and 100 hours of on-site clinical training.  The training is rigorous and is governed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Students must pass the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services’ certification test for CNAs. The course exceeds the required 75 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of supervised on-the-job training. The 100 hours of on-the-job training are in addition to the scheduled class time. Upon successful completion of the course the student is eligible to take the state examination.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma/transcript with graduation date or equivalent GED or HSET
  • Negative urine drug screen
  • Negative TB test
  • Pass background check
  • Family Care Safety Registry with no disqualifying factors

COST OF PROGRAM

There are no costs to the individual upon successfully qualifying for financial assistance. All instructional materials for this training will be provided through funding sources.
